Stargazing Night

On March 26th, 2023, the students of Shining Star School in Peerumadara, along with their parents and teachers, participated in a stargazing program organized by the Antriksh Astronomy Club. The event was designed to introduce participants to the wonders of the universe and the different objects in it.

The program started with an introductory session, where participants were informed about the universe and its diverse objects, including the latest discoveries and mythological stories associated with heavenly objects. After this, the sky-gazing session began, and the first bright object that was visible in the sky was Venus. From there, the session became increasingly interesting, as the Moon and other stars started twinkling in the sky.

The highlight of the event was the Lunar and Planetary observation, during which students were guided by Rakesh Bisht, a scientist, and member of the Antriksh Astronomy Club. Through telescopes, the students were able to identify popular star constellations and observe the lunar and planetary objects.

Parents and teachers also participated in the event, taking advantage of the opportunity to gaze at the night sky with telescopes and binoculars. The event was a great success, and the students were able to gain a deeper appreciation for the wonders of the universe. The Antriksh Astronomy Club, which is involved in Astro-tourism and Space education, did a fantastic job organizing the event, and it is hoped that similar programs will be organized in the future to inspire the next generation of stargazers.

Fishing Adventure

Alt=""           Once upon a time, in a small village nestled near the winding Ramganga river, there lived a young boy who loved nothing more than fishing and swimming in the murky waters. He and his friends would spend their summer vacations casting their nets in the hopes of catching a bountiful feast.
One fateful day, the boy and his uncle set out to fish in the darkness of the night. As they threw their net, the sounds of wild animals and peacocks echoed in the distance, adding to the thrill of their adventure.
Despite their efforts, the duo only managed to catch two measly fish in an hour. Frustrated, they crossed the river in search of better fishing grounds. But luck was not on their side, and they soon found themselves empty-handed once again.
As they began to make their way back home, the moon rose high in the sky, casting a bright light that made it difficult to catch any fish. It was then that they stumbled upon a strange creature lying just a few feet away from them.
Hesitantly, they approached the creature, but as they drew closer, they realized that it was a massive tiger, lying in wait to pounce on them. Fear gripped the boy and his uncle as they quietly backed away, trying not to disturb the beast.
For what felt like an eternity, they walked side by side in complete silence, not daring to speak a word or disturb the tiger. Eventually, they crossed the river and made their way through thick lantana bushes, all the while fearing that the tiger might be following them.
But luck was on their side that night, and they eventually reached a nearby village, where their faithful dogs greeted them with wagging tails and barks of joy. The boy breathed a sigh of relief, knowing that he was safe from harm.
From that day on, the boy never forgot the thrill of his night-time fishing adventures, nor the fear he had felt when faced with the mighty tiger. And as he grew older, he would tell the tale to anyone who would listen, always ending it with a grin and a twinkle in his eye, for he knew that he had narrowly escaped danger and lived to tell the tale.

Visit To Corbett Museum Dhangari

Visit to Dhangadi Museum (By Aroma Rawat)
On 15th March, we went to visit Dhangadi Museum during our school trip. In the morning after reaching school, we set out for Museum in our school bus. We did lot of fun, when we were traveling on bus to the museum, we sang many songs and ate lot of snacks which students brought with them. whereas we were not allowed to take snacks to museum, but even so we went on to trip with snacks. When we reached at the Museum. First, we saw a boat outside the museum, the name of the boat was Hamilton Jet Boat. Then we entered the Museum and saw animals like tiger, deer, elephant, pangolin and many more animals and birds but one thing about them as they all were dead. There was straw filled in the bodies of dead animals. They all were killed in some accidents. There was Panther who was a man-eater, she had killed humans and score of castles and then it was shot dead, another eye caching seen was of a baby elephant, who was killed in a stampede. In the museum, I like the stickers of tigers’ footsteps that were stuck on the ground to show the way to different part of museum. The most amazing and heart stopping moment was when we step in the room designed to create mid night seen of jungle, in the darkroom, there were many sculptures of animals, artificial grass, big stones giving    and animal and insects voices that took us the planes of Corbett in the dark of night. After that we went to another room, in the room, there are some buttons used for listening to the sounds of birds and animals even at one point we can hear the sound of rain in the forest. Then we watched a movie in which a monkey was throwing nuts on us but unfortunately, they did not show us the whole movie, workers were not doing their jobs properly. Well never mind after that we move on to next room where dinosaurs are coming in the screen with us but the animations were not good, then we took some important points from the sign boards providing information about the museum. Then we went to a place looking like small river stream. When we were stepping on the floor all the herded away, it was eye soothing moment, then at last we went to the room where small and new-born babies of some animals were stored in a box, sadly those humble creatures were died in accidents. It was deeply disturbing to seeing the dead bodies of infant animals.

Finally, we came out of the Museum and sat on the foreground of museum and ate our lunch. Before boarding on the bus, we took some photos and made the day memorable and headed to return journey. On the way to school, we discussed all the features of museum and mad plans for future excursion.                                                                                   •Important

Until India realises that wildlife is an asset the killing will go on. A country’s fauna is a sacred trust, and I appeal to you not to betray your trust.

•Tiger-Tiger, an Apex Predator in the Corbett National Park is one of the major attractions for wildlife and enthusiasts. Corbett National Park has one of the highest densities of wild tigers in the world and this park acts as the only source site for the big cat in the western part of the Terai Arc Landscape. Tigers help control the herbivore population and thereby maintain the health of the forest.
